A domestic incident in Watertown resulted in several hours in jail for city man early Tuesday morning.

Officers arrested Robert D. Oatman, 37, of 146 Willow Street when they were summoned to investigate a dispute involving Oatman and his girlfriend, Lisa M. Carr at about 2:30 a.m.

According to information in the WPD arrest report, a kitchen table and chairs were destroyed during the incident with some of the debris landing in a room where the couple’s 3-year-old son was sleeping. The child awoke, upset by the commotion and screaming, police said.

Oatman was transported to the PSB and held for arraignment in City of Watertown Court on charges of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Endangering the welfare of a Child and Harassment 2nd Degree.

Following arraignment this morning, Oatman was released on his own recognizance.
