A Specialist with the 10th Mountain Division has been arrested on weapons charges and menacing.

On Wednesday, April 25th New York State Police with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) arrested Specialist Vincent D. Herzog, 26, of Fort Drum, for Menacing in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Weapon in the 4th Degree.

State Police responded to a menacing complaint, located at 43876 State Rte 3, Natural Bridge, in the Town of Wilna. It is alleged that Specialist Herzog and Maurice Palmer, who were at the residence while a former roommate, Dominic Foster, was working to collect his personal property from the home.

Palmer was approached by Specialist Herzog to leave the residence. When Palmer refused Herzog went into his bedroom and retrieved an unloaded rifle, pointed it at Palmer and demanded that he leave the apartment.

During the course of the investigation it was learned that Specialist Herzog also possessed two handguns without a pistol permit.

Specialist Herzog was arraigned in the Town of Wilna Court and remanded to Jefferson County Correctional Facility in lieu $1000 cash bail. He is awaiting further court actions.
