Fort Drum (Nathan Lehman WTNY) -- There will be plenty of activity in and around Ft. Drum on Thursday.
The base is taking part in a mass casualty exercise on post that will involve the resources of the base and the surrounding community. The exercise involves a simulated plane crash at Wheeler Sack Airfield. As a result, there will be plenty of emergency vehicle traffic around the base beginning at 8 am tomorrow morning. The exercise is expected to last through 4 pm.
Also involved in the exercise will be Samaritan Medical Center, Carthage Area Hospital, local emergency response crews, as well as Jefferson County Public Health and medical examiner.
