Cardiac rehabilitation is a program that is provided to patients who are recovering from congestive heart failure, angina pectoris (chest pain due to clogged heart arteries), recent heart attack, coronary artery bypass graft surgery or PTCA (balloon angioplasty) or who've had a pacemaker implanted, are heart transplant candidates or recipients, or have stable chronic heart failure, peripheral arterial disease with claudication, or other forms of cardiovascular disease.

This week on Live Right Now Cathrine Hopper, Cardiac Rehab Manager with Carthage Area Hospital, will be discussing the benefits of a cardiac rehab program.

Each week Live Right Now, brought to you by Carthage Area Hospital health experts, will outline a new health topic and discuss how to maintain your health.
