Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse University men’s basketball team will play its final Big East Conference home game tonight, the same night it says goodbye to celebrated its seniors, including Brandon Triche and James Southerland.

The Orange will also look to break a three-game losing streak that saw them fall to No. 17 in the Associated Press poll and No. 16 in the coaches poll tonight when they host the DePaul Blue Demons.

A Jamesville-DeWitt High School product, Triche has been a cornerstone of the Orange program for four years.

Triche has been among the team’s scoring leaders throughout the 2012-13 campaign. He’s currently averaging 14.2 points per game.

Southerland’s senior season highlight was a spectacular 35-point performance in the Orange’s 91-82 win over Arkansas in the Big East/SEC Challenge that included nine 3-point goals.

The low-point of his season was a six-game hiatus from the team midseason due to eligibility issues.

Along with the two senior starters, the program will say goodbye to seniors Griffin Hoffmann and Matt Lyde-Cajuste.

The Orange is coming off of a 58-53 loss to Louisville. Previously, SU lost to Marquette and Georgetown.

The Blue Demons are 11-18 overall and 2-14 in Big East Conference play.

SU is 22-7 and 10-6.

SU’s regular season comes to a close Saturday when the team travels to Georgetown for its final game as a member of the Big East Conference.

Tip-off time is slated for 6 p.m.
