Each week, MyABC50.com and the SPCA of Jefferson County, showcase some of the many wonderful pets that are currently up for adoption. The SPCA of Jefferson County is non-profit organization that was founded in 1891 to help protect & care for domestic animals in Jefferson County. They are the only no-kill facility in the area, as well as the only shelter to accept owned dogs, stray or owned cats, or small critters of any kind in the county. The shelter has the only early-age spay/neuter adoption program in Jefferson County. All of the dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on their vaccinations. They come with a starter bag of food and a free vet exam within the first 15 days after adoption.
