Four legged, furry friends will be featured for adoption today in Watertown.

The Lewis County Humane Society, Jefferson County SPCA, Rome Humane Society and other area rescue groups have teamed up to hold a mega adopt-a-thon “Howl At The Moon.”

Starting at 3 p.m. Friday, in the Panera Plaza on Town Center Drive in Watertown, participating animal welfare organizations will work to find nearly 150 animals loving homes before the cold winter moths roll in, until Saturday, October 15th at 6 p.m.

“It’s the perfect event to adopt a pet…”, noted Executive Director, Patti Gorby, “…as all animals for adoption are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and we’re also offering drastically reduced adoption fees as part of the festivities.”

“Howl At The Moon” will also feature lots of fun activities for the kids, refreshments, and the opportunity for to meet a great number of animals for adoption all in one place.

For more information contact Lewis County Humane Society at 376-8349.

Stay tuned to MyABC50.com for coverage of the event and a sneak peek at the animals who are in need of a home.
