ABC has ordered a half-hour comedy pilot based on John Leguizamo's life, TVGuide.com has learned.

The untitled project, co-created by and starring Leguizamo, will be based on his life as a husband and father feeling out of place on the Upper West Side of New York City. He wrestles with these feelings with his privileged wife, his old friends from the Bronx, his mother and grandfather who try to keep him grounded in his Latin roots, and his own kids who he worries are losing touch with reality.
TV Musicals: The highs and lows
David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Jeff Golenberg will executive-produce the comedy for ABC Studios and Mandeville.
This isn't the first time ABC and Leguizamo have partnered up. Last year, the network passed on Kings of Van Nuys, a multicamera comedy starring Leguizamo.
