40 Marijuana plants seized on Lewis County swampland
Town of Lewis - A joint investigation by the Lewis County Sheriff's Department and N.Y.S. Forest Rangers has led to a marijuana seizure in the Town of Lewis.
Approximately 40 marijuana plants ranging in height from 4' to 6' tall were harvested off state land on Friday morning. A ranger and a sheriff's investigator located the plants in a thick swampy area. The plants were transported to the public safety building to be stored as evidence.
The investigation is continuing pending the downloading of data from recording devices.
