ATV collides with Deer in the Town of Montague

Montague -- An ATV collided with a deer on the Sears Pond Rd. in the Town of Montague Sunday evening sending the driver of the four wheeler to the hospital.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Department says, 53 year old Lawrence Bacon of Lowville was traveling northbound on the Sears Pond Road at 8:15 when he struck a deer that entered the roadway. Bacon was ejected from the ATV which then rolled over on top off him. Bacon was taken to Lewis County General Hospital and then transferred to Upstate Medical Center.

The extent of Bacon's injuries were not known. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Lewis County Search and Rescue and the NYS Police.
