Lyncourt (WSYR-TV) Cruelty investigators are trying to find the person responsible for abusing and abandoning a Pitbull puppy.

The unnamed dog, which the SPCA believes to be about 10 weeks old, was found near a dumpster at an apartment complex along Court Street.

The dog is being treated for mange, a parasitic disease that causes hair loss.

"The thing that's disturbing to me" said Paul Morgan from the SPCA "is that this dog was obviously abandoned here.  It didn't try to run away when it was approached.  That's why we're offering this reward, hoping someone will step forward to help".

If you have any information, call the SPCA at 454-3469.
