Copenhagen man arrested following a kerfuffle at a local bar

Copenhagen (Nathan Lehman WTNY) -- A Copenhagen man is under arrest for an alleged fight that occurred a week ago at a bar. 

Thirty three year old Jeffrey Powis is charged with third degree assault. He allegedly was involved in a physical altercation September 14 with another man at the Cottage Inn in the village, causing physical injury to the second individual. The victim was treated for minor injuries and released from Lewis County General Hospital. 

Powis was arrested Thursday at the Lewis County Public Safety Building and will answer the charges at a later date in Town of Denmark Court.
