Clayton (Nathan Lehman WTNY) -- A Harrisville man was charged following a one vehicle accident that occurred over the weekend in Clayton. Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies say 69 year old Gerome Ryder was purposely spinning the rear tires on his Ford Mustang as he was leaving a car show Saturday afternoon at the Coyote Moon Winery on County Route 3 when he lost control and ended up striking a utility pole and a mailbox. A passenger, 71 year old Sandra Ryder, was taken to Samaritan Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Gerome Ryder was ticketed for reckless driving, making an unsafe start, and unreasonable speed. He will appear in Clayton Town Court at a later date.
