An Elmira Heights man is facing sex charges in St. Lawrence County in connection with an incident in the Town of Fowler earlier in the month.
Leon D. Swem, 22, was arrested Sunday by St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department investigators on charges of Attempted Criminal Sexual Act 1st Degree and Forcible Touching.
According to information provided by Detective Sgt. Albert Duquette, it was about 5:30 a.m. on October 8th when Swem allegedly forced himself upon a sleeping 14-year-old person at a residence on California Road and attempted to have deviate sexual intercourse with the victim.
Following arraignment Swem was released to the supervision of St. Lawrence County Probation. Swem is to reappear in court on November 12th.
