Watertown -- Universal Studio’s “Fireball Run” rolls into the City of Watertown on Tuesday.
This race might not be fast and/or furious but the excitement surrounding the event has many North Country residents looking forward to cheering on the local competitors.
According to the Chamber’s Press release, “The Fireball Run’s main mission is to promote the Race to Recover America’s Missing Children. This is the largest active recovery effort for missing and exploited children in the country. Over 40 teams will be assigned a child from their home region and given thousands of posters to distribute along the route. To date, the effort has assisted in the recovery of 38 missing children”.
2 local teams will join in the competition; each assigned specific “Missions” based on the North Country’s rich history. “Team Frontenac”, captained by Mike Colello and “Team Focus”, captained by Erica Leonard, will begin their portion of the Fireball Run in Sackets Harbor and then work their way back to Watertown.
