First 2 weeks of August is peak season for West Nile Virus

(WSYR-TV) -- A pool of mosquitoes has tested positive for West Nile Virus in Oswego County. Health officials say the sample was collected in the village of Central Square.

The Oswego County Health Department is reminding residents that the first two weeks of August have been peak weeks for West Nile Virus over the years.

Meanwhile, an Oswego child is recovering at home after contracting the virus.

Earlier this summer pools in New Haven and Central Square tested positive for the virus.
