(WTNY) -- New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is looking to making changes to the state's abortion laws.

According to a report by "The New York Times," the changes would expand the circumstances a woman could get a late term abortion, which is after the 24th week of pregnancy. The law currently allows for a late term abortion if the woman's life is in danger. The new regulations would allow a pregnancy to be terminated if the fetus is not viable. The law is being drafted just in case the federal case of Roe vs. Wade is ever overturned.

Anti-abortion activists have already begun rallying against the measure.
