Man caught on tape putting a woman into the trunk of a car in a Syracuse grocery store parking lot
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police are investigating an incident in which a man was caught on tape placing a woman into the trunk of a car in the parking lot of a grocery store on Erie Boulevard Monday night.
Police say that around 10:48 p.m., a dark colored, four-door sedan sped into the parking lot of the Price Chopper location and came to an abrupt stop.
The driver - a white male - then removed a white female from the rear seat and placed her in the trunk of the car. He then got back into the car and drove away.
Police say the woman is small framed with a dark pony tail.
They say the man is between 19 and 25 years old and 5-foot-7 with short hair.
The dark sedan has a gold and blue New York State license plate. One witness said that part of the license plate read “E955.”
Store surveillance recorded the incident. Some witnesses talked to police, but they say other witnesses were at the scene.
Police said they will show the surveillance video during an 11 a.m. press conference.
Anyone with information on the incident should call police at (315) 442-5222.
