Hammond (Nathan Lehman WTNY) -- One person was seriously injured following a head on collision that occurred in the Town of Hammond on Tuesday. It happened during the 3 pm hour on State Route 37 near the intersection with the Hadlock Rd. Authorities say a tractor trailer and an SUV struck each other.
The driver of the SUV had to be freed by emergency crews. They were taken to University Hospital in Syracuse for treatment of their injuries. State Route 37 near the crash scene was closed for several hours after the crash.
The names of those involved have not been released. The investigation is continuing.
