New Year means a new start at EJ Noble Hospital
Gouverneur (WTNY) -- E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur is hoping that a management deal will mean better things for the hospital in the new year.
The deal with Canton-Potsdam Hospital will see that facility take over management of the Gouverneur hospital. The state has reviewed and approved the deal and the contract is awaiting final approval from a group that owns a major financial interest in E.J. Noble. The hospital had a rough 2012 financially.
The state closed down the lab back in the fall due to deficiencies, which essentially closed the entire hospital down. The lab has since reopened under the supervision of Samaritan Medical Center, but some hospital services remain closed.
