North Country business awarded $800,000 federal contract
A North Country business has been awarded a $800,000 federal contract. The agreement will allow MetalCraft Marine in Cape Vincent to produce ten Long Range Inceptor Boats for the U. S. Coast Guard. MetalCraft began operations in Clayton in 2007, where it built specialty boats for the Navy. It has since outgrown that location and moved it's operations to the Cape. The initial $800,000 contract could potentially turn into a $10 million deal for the company. The deal was announced by Senator Charles Schumer who visited the facility earlier this year.
