Congressman Bill Owens has announced his support for H.R. 3962, the health care reform bill being considered by the House.
"The bill will provide affordable, quality healthcare for all Americans and reduce the growth in healthcare spending," Owens said in a statement.
"This legislation will will reform the insurance industry and provide increased access to affordable healthcare without taxing healthcare benefits, cutting Medicare benefits or raising taxes on the middle class, and that is exactly the direction we need to go," Owens said.
He also said the bill is consistent with his campaign stance that reform must include provisions to stop insurance companies from excluding those with preexisting conditions.
