Police investigate robbery at Kunoco store in Waddington

Waddington -- The Sheriff's Office in St. Lawrence County is investigating a reported strong arm robbery that took place Thursday night shortly after 8pm.

Police say a white male entered the Kunoco Store on State Route 37 in the Village of Waddington wearing a black zip up hoody, a Ski type mask and blue jeans. The suspect made his way around the counter and attempted to steal money but was by the female store clerk. The two wrestled to the floor and the suspect was able to get free and out from behind the counter where the two again got into a physical confrontation. The clerk was then bitten and kicked in the ribs and the suspect was able to flee the store with about $400 in cash.

The store clerk was taken to the hospital by Waddington Rescue where she was treated for the bite wound then released.

The male suspect is described as between 5'7" - 5'10", thin build, 140 - 160 lbs.

The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about the robbery to call 379-2222
