Police investigate shooting in the Town of Leray

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting on State Route 3 in the vicinity of Patricia
Drive and Twin Oaks Drive in the Town of Leray.

On Friday February 9th at approximately 10:45pm, several rounds were fired at a business sign, two of which passed through the sign and struck an occupied residence, with one round penetrating a wall and coming to rest inside the home. Police believe the shooting likely occurred from a moving vehicle.
