Potsdam -- Police in Potsdam are saying the person who assaulted a man with a sword at around 3am on Sunday morning has turned himself in.
25 year old Mohamed Bourhouat, Berkley Drive, Potsdam has been arrested for Assault with Intent to Cause Physical Injury with a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Weapon with Intent to Use, Menacing 2nd with a Weapon.
The arrest comes after an incident which occurred over the weekend in which police say Bourhouat arrived at a residence on Berkley Drive armed with a sword and attempted to assault a male subject. According to Police, the victim defended himself by grabbing the sword causing severe lacerations to his fingers.
Bourhouat fled the scene before Police arrived. The victim was treated and released from Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Bourhouat turned himself in at the Potsdam Police Department at 8:19 Monday night and is being held on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
