SU hosting Central Connecticut today at the Dome

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse University men’s basketball team will look to bring in the New Year on a positive note tonight when the Orange hosts Central Connecticut at the Carrier Dome.

SU is ranked No. 9 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 7 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll with an 11-1 record. The Orange is coming off of a 57-36 win over Alcorn.

The Blue Devils enter the game with a 4-6 record.

Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPNU and also TK99 locally.

Sophomore guard Michael Carter-Williams is leading all NCAA Division I players with an assist average of 9.9 per game and is on the Naismith Award Watch List.

Senior forward James Southerland leads the Orange on offense with 14 points per game. Guard Brandon Triche is averaging 13.9 points per game.

Kyle Vinales is the Blue Devils’ leading scorer with 21.4 points per game.
