Montague (WTNY) -- A serious snowmobile crash in Lewis County sends one person to the hospital. The sheriff's department says it happened on the Culpepper Rd. in the Town of Montague Saturday afternoon. Eighteen year old Elizabeth Roy of Gleentown, PA was operating a snowmobile when she struck a large rock hidden underneath the snow. That caused her to loose control and and into the path of a second snowmobile operated by 46 year old William Jones of Slatehill, NY. The Jones snowmobile struck Roy head on and she became stuck underneath the sled. Police say Roy suffered serious injuries and was last listed in critical condition at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Jones was taken to Samaritan Medical Center to be treated for a multiple compound fracture to his right arm.
