A five day solar thermal training seminar will soon be held at SUNY Canton, where builders and contractors can expand their knowledge of alternative heating techniques.
The College's Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology (CREST) will host the five-day solar thermal training starting at 8 a.m. Monday, July 30, in SUNY Canton's Nevaldine Technology Center South, Room 133.
"We've specifically designed the 40-hour training to prepare participants for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) entry-level examination," said Matthew D. Bullwinkel, the instructor for the program and an associate professor at the College. "Builders will be able to install, use and maintain a solar thermal system for residential applications."
SUNY Canton created CREST to extend renewable technologies to area builders. The Center works hand-in-hand with the alternative and renewable energy program.
