State Police in Watertown have arrested two teen brothers after they shoplifted shoes from a department store and were found with a hypodermic needle and marijuana.
On Monday, May 7th two teens were taken into custody by mall personnel for shop lifting from Zumiez store.
State Police in Watertown arrested, 16 year-old, Gerald Woodard, of Dexter, and his juvenile brother as result of a Petit Larceny complaint.
According to witnesses, the younger of the two brothers entered the store and changed his worn shoes with a new pair and walked out of the store. When approached by management, the two stated that they forgot to put the shoes back. Management requested that a payment be made for the shoes, but were told the two had no money to pay for them.
Over the course of the investigation, police took both into custody and located a hypodermic needle, numerous prescription drugs including controlled substances, and a marijuana pipe with residue.
The younger brother, who is a juvenile, was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, both class A Misdemeanors.
The younger brother was released into the care of his mother and issued a Family Court Appearance Ticket scheduled to appear at a later date.
The older brother, Gerald Woodard was arrested and charged with Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance 5th, a class D Felony, Possession Hypodermic Instrument, class A Misdemeanor, Endangering welfare of child, a class A Misdemeanor, and Petit Larceny, a class A Misdemeanor.
Woodard was arraigned before the Town of Watertown Court and remanded in Jefferson County Correction Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
