Watertown (WTNY) -- A teacher at the Watertown High School is facing charges stemming from a New Year's Eve party.

Forty four year old Kate Harrienger of Watertown is accused of hosting a party at her home that night in which alcohol was served to those under the age of 21 without parental permission. Harrienger was charged with first degree unlawfully dealing with a child and second degree criminal nuisance. Harrienger was ticketed for town court later this month. She is an English teacher at Watertown High School.

The school district says it is cooperating with the investigation and that the teacher has been put on administrative leave.
