2 Watertown Women arrested for shoplifting
Watertown (Nathan Lehman WTNY) -- Two Watertown women are facing charges of shoplifting from a local business and injuring a store employee.
State Police arrested 22 year old Desiree Smith and 27 year old Tiffanie Merrifield on charges of robbery and petit larceny. Police allege that the pair stole nearly $100 worth of items from J.C. Penny at the Salmon Run Mall back on August 19.
A loss prevention officer was injured when he attempted to stop their escape.
Smith was arraigned and ordered held on $5000 cash bail whole Merrifield was arraigned and ordered held on $25000 bail.
