A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the May homicide of Daniel Simonds in St. Lawrence County.

27-year-old Kaientanoron L. Swamp of 1422 State Highway 37 in Hogansburg, who also goes by the shorter first name of Nolo, is charged with 1st degree robbery and is being held in St. Lawrence County jail without bail.

"Last night's arrest represents another step forward in the ongoing investigation," District Attorney Nicole Duve' said. She said more arrests are possible.

Duve' said it remains to be seen whether Swamp will face a county or federal grand jury.

In late June, 27 year old Brian Latulipe was indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with the case.

Authorities allege that Swamp and Latulipe were involved in the May 13th attempted robbery at Simonds' home in Stockholm. Simonds was fatally shot during the incident.

The suspects were after Simonds' marijuana and cash, but left without either, investigators say.

Swamp is believed to be from the Canadian side of the Mohawk reservation near Massena. He's believed to be in his 20's.
