4 firefighters shot, 2 killed at scene of fire in suburban Rochester

Webster (WSYR-TV) - Four firefighters were shot and two died at the scene of a fire in suburban Rochester on Monday morning.

Fire crews responded to the fire on Lake Road in Webster around 5:30 a.m. when a gunman opened fire. The suspect is still at large and multiple buildings are now burning.

Firefighters are not working to put out the fires because the scene is not secure. At least one building has collapsed because of the fire.

A SWAT team arrived at the scene near the Lake Ontario shore along with an armored vehicle.
