7 hurt in two car crash in Canton

Both drivers and five passengers were hurt in a two car crash in the town of Canton just after noon on Saturday.

State Police say 19 year old Timothy Lamb of Madrid drove his minivan into the intersection of the Pink Schoolhouse Road and County Route 25, into the path of the car driven by 47 year old Roxanne Vaughan of Russell.

Vaughan's car hit Lamb's minivan on the driver's side, extensively damaging both vehicles.

Lamb complained of knee and left side pain.

Ms. Vaughan complained of abdominal pain and a head injury from being hit by a can of paint during the collision.

Five passengers were in Lamb's minivan:
  • William Pitts, 17, Canton, complained of pain to his left side.
  • Christopher Lamb, 16, Madrid wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. He complained of back, neck and leg pain.
  • A juvenile, also not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and suffered a broken collar bone and broken hip along with multiple cuts and bruises
  • Another juvenile complained of pain to the back, left arm and leg and got cut over his left eye.
  • Another juvenile suffered a cut above his left eye.
All victims were treated and released at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Lamb was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way and for having a rear seat passenger under age 16 not wearing a seatbelt.
