An 81-year-old Port Leyden man has been arrested on sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child charges.
State Police in Lowville arrested Emerson M. Wood, and charged him with 1st degree Sex Abuse, a class D Felony and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A Misdemeanor.
It is alleged that earlier in July, Wood subjected a female under the age of 11 to sexual contact on at least two separate occasions at his home located at 3469 North Pearl Street.
Wood has been arraigned in the Village of Port Leyden and was remanded to the Lewis County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail.
