Accident in Canton sends 3 to the hospital with serious injuries
Canton -- Sheriff Detectives and Deputies investigated a serious physical injury motor vehicle accident that occurred on County Route 27 in the Town of Canton today at approximately 2:30pm.
A vehicle driven by Thom Byrne entered County Route 27 from a private access road and drove in front of a Pickup Truck, driven by Andrew Bregg who was traveling north. Both Bryne and his passenger, Damien Cuellar, were taken to Canton Potsdam Hospital by Canton Rescue.
Bryne was being treated for severe head and body trauma and was subsequently transported to Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Vermont for further treatment. Cuellar was being treated for a laceration to the head. Both Cuellar and Bryne had to be extricated from their vehicle by Canton Fire Department personnel using the "Jaws of Life." Bregg suffered from a possible fractured arm and was transported by private vehicle to Canton Potsdam Hospital to be treated.
The Sheriff's Department was also assisted at the scene by SUNY Canton Security.
The investigation is continuing and possible charges are pending.
