A Lewis County woman has been arrested in Watertown for allegedly embezzling money from the Greater Watertown Pop Warner Football League.

City Police say 44 year old Lisa Staie of Lowville stole $13,840 from the league between August, 2001 and July, 2008.

Ms. Staie turned herself in to the police department, was arraigned in city court and released without bail.

Staie faces similar charges in Lewis County, arrested there for embezzling from the Lowville Pop Warner league.

She served as treasurer for both organizations.
