Lowville (WTNY) -- Lewis County Sheriff's deputies investigated an accident involving an Amish buggy and a motor vehicle in the Town of Lowville Wednesday afternoon.

Police say it happened on State Rt. 12 just after 4:30 pm. According to authorities, a horse and buggy operated by 25 year old Samuel Kanagy of Lowville was traveling south when he failed to see an unoccupied vehicle that was parked on the side of the road with it's four ways on. The horse, which was blind, collided with the rear of the vehicle, causing damage. The horse sustained an injury to it's left front leg and was removed from the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
