Burglary suspect arrested after foot chase in Leyden

A burglary suspect was arrested in Lewis County after a short foot chase early Monday morning.

An unwanted male was reported at 6954 Kelpytown Road, town of Leyden, just before 3 a.m.

When sheriff's deputies and state troopers arrived, the suspect fled the residence on foot but was captured nearby.

Brian A. Nagy, 19, Port Leyden, was charged with burglary, criminal mischief and petty larceny.

He's accused of going into the home while the residents were asleep and stealing several items that were recovered in his jacket pockets after he was caught.

Nagy was arraigned in town of Leyden court and sent to county jail with bail set at $10,000.
