Canton (Nathen Lehman WTNY) -- A Canton man has been found guilty of sexually abusing two young girls.
A jury returned the verdicts against 37 year old Richard Thornton on Thursday after about four hours of deliberations. Thornton was found guilty on charges of predatory sexual assault, course of sexual conduct against a child, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Thornton was accused of sexually abusing a 10 year old girl from 2008 to 2009 and a 14 year old girl from 2002 to 2009. Thornton is due to be sentenced on August 13.
He faces the possibility of 25 years to life in prison. His attorney is promising an appeal.
