Cape Vincent Correctional Facility inmate pleads guilty to criminally negligent homicide
Cape Vincent (Riley Keenan WTNY) -- A state prison inmate will be spending an extra two to four years behind bars for causing the death of another inmate at the Cape Vincent correctional facility.
Erick Minott, 20, was sentenced after pleading guilty in April to criminally negligent homicide and second-degree attempted assault. Minott admitted to fighting Jorge Morillo last July at the facility, when Morillo fell and hit his head, causing a blood clot that resulted in his death.
Minott is serving a 4 1/2 year sentence for a second degree robbery conviction in 2009.
