As the Village of Cape Vincent prepares for the funeral of Mark Davis this Saturday, the Fire Department has issued directions for visitors to help keep problems with the expected huge turnout to a minimum.
The funeral for Davis will be Saturday at 1pm in the Thousand Islands High School. Over 1,500 emergency personnel from across the State are expected to attend.
In light of the crowds, the Cape Vincent Volunteer Fire Department has issued the following directions for attendees:
Emergency vehicles participating in the Honor Procession should report to the Chaumont Fire Station, 11385 NYS Route 12E by 11 am, where they will be directed to the High School
Person traveling in personal vehicles should proceed to the Village of Cape Vincent where they will be directed to designated parking areas and bussed to the High School
Busses transporting groups should proceed directly to the High School, 8481 County Route 9 where they can unload and be directed to a designated bus parking areaAfter the funeral, guests will be bussed to the Village for the Honor Procession and Last Call ceremony. A reception follows immediately at the Cape Vincent Fire Station, Cape Vincent American Legion, and the United Methodist Church. Busses will be provided to take guests back to parking areas.
