Cape Vincent Health Clininc to change hands
Cape Vincent (Nathan Lehman WTNY) -- The Cape Vincent Health Clinic will be changing hands this month. An agreement has been announced that will see operation of the clinic go from Carthage Area Hospital to Samaritan Medical Center.
The deal came about after village and town leaders in the Cape approached both hospitals to consider the transfer of the operations to ensure that the clinic remained in the community for years to come. Both hospitals are awaiting approval from the New York State Department of Health for their respective operations.
The clinic is located on East Broadway St. in the village. Carthage Hospital's recent financial issues likely played a major role in the transfer of the clinic.
