The two men accused of multiple offenses in Watertown over a two day period last week were arraigned in separate courts Monday morning on charges relating to a fight last Thursday on North Rutland Street.

Paul J. Chamberlain, 19, of Bonney Road, Watertown appeared in City of Watertown Court this morning for his arraignment on three counts of Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree.

Last week bail for Chamberlain was set at $50,000 when he was arraigned on charges relating to a burglary at a city residence on Wednesday.

The same bail now also covers the endangerment and weapon charges.

Chamberlain’s co-defendant, 18-year-old Britton T. L. Grant of Brownville appeared for arraignment in Jefferson County Court this morning where he was arraigned on one count of Reckless Endangerment and three misdemeanor charges.

Last week, in city court, Grant’s bail was set at $25,000 when he was arraigned, together with Chamberlain, in the burglary case. The same bail now covers all the charges.

Investigators suspect Chamberlain and Grant are the two men who robbed and assaulted Jeremy Irey during a burglary at Mr. Irey’s Mill Street home last Wednesday.

Police also allege the two men were participants in the fight on North Rutland Street on Thursday.

Officers say a rifle shot was fired from a car during the incident and at least one person was hit by the vehicle as it left the scene, though no one was seriously injured.
