Watertown (Nathan Lehman WTNY) -- The North Country Children's Clinic has been given a big boost by the federal government. A boost to the tune of over a half million dollars. Senator Charles Schumer announced Wednesday that the clinic will receive $650,000 in grant money from the Department of Health and Human Services.

The grant will qualify the clinic as a federal qualified health center. Basically, it means the clinic will be able to expand it's services to include adult care, something the clinic has been seeking to do for some time. Not only will services expand for it's Jefferson County clinic on Arsenal St., but a new clinic will also be opened up in Lowville to serve Lewis County residents.
