Customers of the Childwold Post Office will have to travel to nearby Piercefield starting Tuesday.
That's because the landlord at the Childwold facility didn't pay the power bill and electricity was cut, according to postal officials.
The Post Office will open briefly Tuesday morning for purposes of notifying 28 boxholders. But as of 10:15 a.m. its operations will be moved to Piercefield.
No delivery service takes place out of the Childwold facility.
No timetable for return of services to Childwold has been established.
This isn't the first time the postal service has had facility-related problems in Childwold. Last spring, the Post Office was closed for about two months because of water and sanitation issues.
Postal officials found the office without power Friday.
