We’re keeping in the chance for lake enhanced snow showers southeast of Lake Ontario through the overnight. Those not seeing snow showers may have some cloud cover until early Sunday morning. This should keep low temperatures hovering near zero and in the low single digits. Where cloud cover is sparse, temperatures will plunge. In the Tug Hill, the Mohawk Valley, and areas south and east of Syracuse, we’re expecting another night below zero degrees.

High pressure is the reason for the dryness that we’ll be experiencing for the second half of the weekend. While some lake clouds may persist, most will see a good deal of sunshine through Sunday. While temperatures will still be chilly in the low 20s, the sun should at least make it feel more pleasant. It’ll be a great winter day Sunday. Overall, there are no major weather issues in the weekend forecast.

We’ve got a warm-up headed our way, if only for a couple of days.  As that warmth presses our way, some light snow or a wintry mix is likely Monday.  Rain showers will be the rule by Tuesday, as temperatures warm into the 40s. A cold front will swing through late Wednesday night and drop our temperatures back towards the low 20s by Friday.
