Ogdensburg (WWTI) -- With much of the Northeast preparing to deal with the effects and remains of Hurricane Sandy, the City of Ogdensburg has declared a State of Emergency.
The greatest concern for Officials in the Ogdensburg area is damaging winds. The storm and it's high winds, are expected to last until midweek before it slowly moves north and out of the area.
Under the State of Emergency, all departments and agencies of the City of Ogdensburg shall take whatever steps are, or may be necessary to protect life, property and public infrastructure, or to provide emergency assistance. The Disaster Manager is authorized and directed to enter into emergency contracts for necessary services required to ameliorate and remedy the emergency conditions within the city. All pedestrian and vehicular traffic should be undertaken with care on all effected public roadways within the City of Ogdensburg and the public shall observe all road closings which may be in effect.
The State of Emergency will remain in effect through November 3rd.
