Albany (Nathan Lehman WTNY) -- The big ruling on the Healtchare Reform Act on Thursday will likely become one of the biggest issues in the race for Congress here in the North Country.
Democrat and North Country Congressman Bill Owens , who was one of the deciding votes for the measure in 2010, remains a supporter of the law. In a statement, Owens says now that the court has ruled, it is time for Democrats and Republicans to come together to implement the law, including making changes where necessary.
His Republican opponent, Matt Doheny, released his own statement saying the law will be one of the largest tax increases in American history and has joined in calls to repeal the law. Something he says he will work to do if elected in November.
