A Lewis County man was seriously injured in a chainsaw accident Wednesday morning.

Sheriff's investigators say 54 year old Bruce Lyndaker was cutting logs along the Belfort Road in Croghan when the saw kicked back, hitting him in the face, chest and wrist.

Croghan ambulance took Lyndaker to a landing zone at Barne's Corners where he was airlifted to University Hospital in Syracuse.
